TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State football returns to the field for 15 days of spring practice during the months of March and April as announced by head coach Curt Mallory on Monday afternoon.
 
The Sycamores will open up the spring practice schedule on Tuesday, March 29 and will continue on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays through the culmination of the Spring Game on Saturday, April 30.
 
"I don't know if I've ever been this excited to get back on the field," Mallory said. "We've had a great offseason and everything is really going well within the program. We have a great culture right now and there's a lot of enthusiasm and hunger with our guys. We cannot wait to get back out there and get started."
 
More details about the Spring Game will be released in the coming weeks.
 
The Sycamores have been working to get back on the field since the end of the 2021 season as Indiana State made its return to competition. ISU went 5-6 overall on the year with a 3-5 mark in Missouri Valley play after sitting out the 2020-21 athletic year due to COVID concerns.
 
Key wins from the 2021 season included a come-from-behind victory at Eastern Kentucky, while victories over Western Illinois, Youngstown State, and Illinois State highlighted the conference schedule. The Illinois State win was significant as the Sycamores topped the Redbirds in Normal, Ill. for the first time since the 1997 season and was just Indiana State's eighth road win in the series dating back to 1936.
 
The offseason continued the momentum as the Sycamores added talent across the field by way of the #ForestCrew22 signing class. Thirty-nine players committed to joining the program from 13 different states and three countries as the Sycamores hit the recruiting trail hard.
