ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State's
Haley Halsall took Missouri Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Freshman of the Week honors as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Halsall becomes the third ISU freshman to earn the conference's weekly honor this season joining
Peyton Heagy (October 26) and
Raine Boles (December 7), and the four Sycamore overall to claim one of the conference's weekly awards.
Haley Halsall picked up the win in the 200-yard Butterfly and added the Sycamores' top finish in the 500-yard Freestyle as the freshman continued to showcase her versatility in the pool this past weekend at North Florida.
The Woodstock, Illinois native also added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard IM to wrap up her weekend. Halsall opened her competition with the 200-yard Fly win topping the field by nearly a full second in 2:06.99.
She followed up finishing second in the pool in the 500-yard Freestyle in 5:09.43. The freshman wrapped up her weekend finishing fourth overall in the 200 IM in 2:14.88.

Indiana State returns to action in the new year on Saturday, January 14, as the Sycamores host Southern Illinois and Ball State for a Tri-Meet at the Vigo County Aquatic Center. Competition is set to start at 2 p.m.
