Sycamores Return Home to Host Trinity Christian Sunday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - After playing three games in three days down in the Sunshine State, the Sycamores return home Sunday for a 2 p.m. tip against NAIA opponent Trinity Christian at the Hulman Center.

Indiana State went 2-1 at the Gulf Coast Showcase this past week for a third-place finish in the tournament. The Sycamores opened their run at the tournament on Monday with their fourth straight win of the year, defeating East Carolina 79-75. They suffered their first loss of the season the next day, falling 63-61 to Kansas City, but bounced back in the third-place game Wednesday, defeating Drexel 85-81.

Xaiver Bledson was named to the All-Tournament Team after leading the Sycamores in scoring through the tournament. He posted a team-high 16 points against ECU and a DI career-high 22 points against Drexel, averaging 15.7 points per game off the bench.

Courvoisier McCauley has been named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List which is presented annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball.

SERIES HISTORY
Sunday will be the first-ever meeting between the Sycamores and Trolls.

TRINITY CHRISTIAN AT A GLANCE
The Trolls have not played since Nov. 12 at Calumet as their game scheduled at St. Ambrose Nov. 19 was postponed.
After opening the season 3-0, the Trolls are riding a two-game skid, most recently coming off an 83-69 loss at Calumet. Five Trolls scored in double-figures in the loss, led by Saeer Miller who came off the bench to score a game-high 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Troy Glover recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Brady Loerop finished with 11 points, and John Cison and Michael Wright scored 10 points apiece.
Cison leads the Trolls in scoring and ranks second in the league with 21.8 points per game. He also ranks top-10 in the league in assists per game, steals per game, and field goal percentage. Miller ranks fourth in the league in scoring with 19.8 points per game while leading the league with 5.3 assists per game and 4.0 steals per game.

LAST TIME OUT
Cameron Henry and Xavier Bledson combined for 44 points Wednesday evening as the Sycamores bounced back and defeated Drexel, 85-81, at Hertz Arena to take third place in the 2022 Gulf Coast Showcase with a 2-1 record in the tournament.
Henry posted his first double-double of the year with a season-high 22 points and team-high 10 boards while Bledson posted a Division I career-high 22 points off the bench.
Freshman Robbie Avila played over 25 minutes and shot 4-of-5 from the field with three triples for a career-high 11 points.
The first half of the game saw 11 lead changes, but after the and-1 from Henry at 5:30 in the opening frame, the Sycamores would never trail again.

UP NEXT
The Sycamores get their first taste of Missouri Valley Conference play Wednesday, Nov. 30 when they welcome Drake to the Hulman Center for a 7 p.m. tip. The game is a designated "Blue Out" and all fans are encouraged to wear their blue.
