TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State volleyball continues Missouri Valley Conference action with matchups against Valparaiso and Loyola Friday and Saturday. First serve with the Beacons is set for 7 p.m. Friday at the ARC while Saturday's match with the Ramblers will begin at 5 p.m. inside Gentile Arena. Friday's match will air on ESPN+ while Saturday's match can be seen on ESPN3.
 
Trees on Fire
The Sycamores boast an eight-game winning streak, the longest since ISU won 14-straight in the 1982 season when they finished 37-10. Their 9-2 start also marks the second-best start in ISU history, also behind the 1982 squad that began the year 13-1.
 
The Series at a Glance - Valparaiso
Indiana State leads the series, 16-14, and ended a five-game skid to Valpo last spring after claiming the season finale 3-1 over the Beacons. ISU is 7-6 on the road against Valpo in a series that began in 1977.
 
The Series at a Glance - Loyola
Indiana State trails in the all-time series with the Ramblers, 15-9. The two squads last met in the spring season when each team claimed a win in the weekend series played at the ISU Arena. Up until last spring's win, Loyola had won five straight in the series. ISU is 3-6 all-time on the road against LUC.
 
Climbing the Ladder
Melina Tedrow continues to claw her way up the Indiana State record book -- now at 1,381 career digs. She is now just 41 digs away from fifth in the record book after recoding 17 in a win over Evansville last time out.
 
Tedrow Named MVC Defensive Player of the Week
Melina Tedrow was been named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week this past week. Tedrow led the Sycamores with 17 digs during a sweep of Evansville Friday. Her play on the court helped Indiana State to a 51-39 advantage in digs and her 5.67 digs per set led all players. The Quincy, Illinois product added five assists and a pair of service aces.
 
Getting Defensive
Indiana State has crept their way into the top-50 nationally in a defensive category, thanks to strong efforts at the Sycamore Invitational and against Eastern Illinois. The Sycamores rank 45th in the NCAA with 16.16 digs per set in with Melina Tedrow leading the way at libero. She sits at 75th in the nation with 4.53 digs per set as an individual.
