TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer fell 2-1 to UT Martin in their home opener Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
The Skyhawks struck first when Jill Hildreth got behind the Indiana State defense and scored on a feed from Makayla Robinson in the 19
th minute.
The Sycamores tied the game at one in the 55
th minute when
Nora Henderson fired from just outside the box and scored her first career goal on a pass from
Mackenzie Kent.
UT Martin took the lead back in the 71st minute when Hildreth scored for the second time in the match on a rebound from a
Maddie Alexander save.
Indiana State recorded seven shots and held the Skyhawks to just five attempts. Erica Myers had five saves for UT Martin.
Indiana State will head back on the road to face Furman on Thursday, Septermber 2 at Stone Stadium in Greenville, SC. The match will kick off at 8 p.m. ET.
