COLUMBIA, Mo. – After the originally scheduled match on Thursday was moved due to inclement weather, Indiana State women's soccer fell to Missouri 3-1 on Friday afternoon at Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium.
Junior midfielder
CeCe Wahlberg found the right side of the net as she scored unassisted in the seventh minute of the match for her first goal of the season to give the Sycamores a 1-0 lead.
Missouri tied the match in the 30
th minute when Milena Fischer scored unassisted which was the first goal of the season for the Tigers.
Julissa Cisneros gave Missouri a 2-1 lead in the 55
th minute with her first goal of the season on an assist from Leah Selm. Cisneros scored again on an unassisted goal in the 82
nd minute to put the Tigers up 3-1.
Indiana State recorded seven shot attempts in the match with two on goal and Missouri tallied 26 shots with 10 on goal.
Tara Tesmond made seven saves for the Sycamores.
The loss drops the Sycamores to 1-2 on the year and Missouri moves to 1-2 on their season.
Indiana State returns home Sunday to host UT Martin in their home opener at 1 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium.
