ST. LOUIS – Indiana State softball had two student-athletes receive Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention honors, the Valley announced Friday morning.

With the Scholar-Athlete honors, Bella Peterson and Lexie Siwek added to their list of post season awards following the 2021 season.
 
This year the Missouri Valley Conference recognized 21 athletes with a First Team, Honorable Mention Team, and a Scholar Athlete of the year. Students had to meet the following criteria to be considered for the Softball Scholar-Athlete Team:

• 3.3 Cumulative GPA
• At least a sophomore (or higher) in academic and athletic standing 
• Participation in 75% of regular season or the MVC Championship

 
Peterson earned Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention for the second time in her career while the honor marks Siwek's first.
 
Bella Peterson – Senior, Recreation and Sport Management, 3.67
Lexie Siwek – Junior, Nursing, 3.92
