TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State softball team split a doubleheader against Missouri State on Saturday afternoon at Price Field. The Sycamores dropped game one by a score of 11-1 before taking the second game behind a
Lexi Benko complete game in the circle, 7-3.
Indiana State moved to 18-24 on the season and 11-12 in MVC play while Missouri State sits at 22-16 and 13-6 in Valley action.
Game One – Missouri State 11, Indiana State 1
Missouri State jumped out in front in the top of the first inning brining in six runs on five hits. Indiana State scored their lone run in the bottom half of the inning when
Bella Peterson crushed her seventh home run on the year over the left field wall.
The Bears didn't let up as they scored five unanswered runs in two innings to beat the Sycamores, 11-1.

Game Two – Missouri State 11, Indiana State 1
Indiana State had a big first inning as they brought in four runs on four hits and three Missouri State errors.
Mallory Marsicek capped the inning off with her fourth double of the year.
Missouri State would bring in their first run with a home run over the center field wall in the top of the fourth inning. The Bears plated a second run in the top of the fifth taking advantage of an ISU error.
The Sycamores drove in two runs in the bottom of the sixth from a
TeAnn Bringle single and a
Bella Peterson sacrifice fly. The Bears would get a run back in the bottom half of the inning on an ISU error, but it wasn't enough to overcome Indiana State's offense.
