TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – With every Sycamore shooting under their 2021 average, the Indiana State women's golf team took fourth place at the ISU Invitational Tuesday at the Country Club of Terre Haute. The Sycamores finished with a two-round score of 617, its lowest two-day mark of the season.
 
Indiana State was led on the day by junior Lauren Green, who turned in a team-best 76 on the afternoon. Sophomore Chelsea Morrow put a bow on her best tournament performance of the season by shooting a 77, leaving her +7 for the tournament and finishing in a tie for eighth. Green finished the invitational +10 and tied for 13th. 
 
Junior Madison Branum shaved five strokes off her best two-day score of the season, turning in a 157 (76-81), and freshman Iyoun Chew shot a career-best 159 (80-79) that was eight strokes better than her previous best. Sophomore Kristen Hobbs matched Chew's 159, finishing with an 83 on Tuesday.
 
On the individual side, freshman Molly Lee carded the best two-day score of her career, shooting a +12 156 to finish in 17th place. Both freshmen making their collegiate debuts, Lizzie Bickar and Grace Welty, improved their marks by three strokes from day one of the event by shooting 83 and 91, respectively. 
 
Indiana State (617) finished the ISU Invitational in fourth place behind only Northern Iowa (597), Green Bay (602), and Butler (604). Northern Iowa's Hannah Bermel was the medalist for the event as the only player to finish below par (-1).
 
The next time Indiana State hits the links for competition will be at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, April 18-20 in St. Louis.
