PEORIA, Ill. – The Indiana State softball team dropped its doubleheader against Bradley on Saturday afternoon at Peterson Hotels Field. The Sycamores fell in game one in extra innings by a score of 7-6 before falling 3-1 in the nightcap.

Indiana State moves to 14-19 on the season and 7-7 in MVC play while Bradley improves to 15-12 and 8-6 in Valley action.

Bella Peterson extended her hit streak to six games, going 3-for-6 on the day, while hitting her fifth home run of the season and driving in two runs. Lexie Siwek was the lone Sycamore with multiple hits in game two with a pair of singles.

Game One Recap – Bradley 7, Indiana State 6
Indiana State got on the board first by a two-run home run from Bella Peterson, her fifth on the season. The Braves answered in the bottom of the second inning with a pair of singles to take the one-run lead.

In the top of the third, the Trees took advantage of two Bradley errors, taking the lead back, 4-3. Back-to-back singles from Amanda Guercio and TeAnn Bringle extended the ISU lead to 6-3. Bradley tied the game up at six runs apiece in the bottom of the fifth on four hits. Despite Lexi Benko getting out of a bases loaded, no out jam, in the top of the eighth, the Sycamores ultimately fell short in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Braves walked it off with a single to the outfield.

Game Two Recap – Bradley 3, Indiana State 1
The Braves pushed two runs across the plate in the bottom of the first inning by executing a sacrifice bunt and an RBI groundout.

Mycaela Miller scored the lone Sycamore run by hitting her third home run of the season to cut the Bradley lead in half.

ISU couldn't overcome Bradley as they used back-to-back singles to extend their lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
