DES MOINES, Iowa – The Indiana State softball team swept its doubleheader against Drake Saturday afternoon at Buel Field. The Sycamores (13-17, 6-5 MVC) held on in game one to beat the Bulldogs for the first time since 2015 by a score of 12-8 before earning an 11-3 run-rule victory in five innings in the nightcap.

KEY MOMENT – GAME ONE
Annie Tokarek hit her fourth home run of the year driving in a team-leading three runs. Tokarek is now tied for fourth in the ISU record book with her 14 career home runs.

SCORING SUMMARY – GAME ONE
Top 1st – (ISU 3, DU 0)
Mallory Marsicek and Bella Peterson drew walks and Annie Tokarek connected on her fourth home run of the season to give ISU the early lead.

Top 3rd – (ISU 8, DU 0)
The Trees loaded the bases with no outs. Amanda Guercio plated a run with a sacrifice fly to right field. Lexie Siwek brought in a run with a single through the right side and TeAnn Bringle brought in a pair of runs with her single. Olivia Patton legged out an infield single to bring in the fifth and final run of the inning for ISU.

Bottom 4th – (ISU 8, DU 6)
The Bulldogs scored six runs on three hits and two ISU errors.

Top 5th – (ISU 12, DU 6)
The Sycamores put up four runs on a wild pitch and back-to-back doubles from Bella Peterson and Isabella Henning.

KEY MOMENT – GAME TWO
Lexie Siwek led the ISU offense going 3-for-4 and drove in a career high three runs at the dish. Siwek matched her career high three hits in a game extending her hit streak to seven games.

Bella Peterson drew a walk, Isabella Henning roped her second double of the series to bring in Peterson. Annie Tokarek and Amanda Guercio both drew walks to load the bases. Lexie Siwek hit a bases-clearing double to bring in a trio of ISU runs. Alexis McCullough brought in Siwek with a single through the right side. Mallory Mariscek doubled down the left field line to plate two more runs. In Peterson's second at bat of the inning, she doubled to bring in Marsicek.

Bottom 3rd – (ISU 8, DU 1)
The Bulldogs plated a run with a bases loaded groundout.
 
Top 4th – (ISU 11, DU 1)
Alexis McCullough singled up the middle to bring in a pair of ISU runs and Mallory Marsicek singled to bring in McCullough.
 
Bottom 5th – (ISU 11, DU 3)
Drake plated two runs a double and a groundout.
