TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State softball team is set to hit the road for Indianapolis for midweek matchup with Butler. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday March 30.

The Butler Softball Field is closed to the public and only fans on student-athletes pass list will be admitted into the complex.
 
Series History
Indiana State leads the all-time series 28-18 over Butler. The last meeting was in 2020 in Memphis, Tenn. at the Memphis Tournament when the Sycamores picked up a 9-5 win on a walk-off grand slam from Annie Tokarek.
 
Three Things to Know

1. Powerful Peterson
   Bella Peterson continues to pace the Sycamores offense. Peterson slashed .455/.545/.455 during the Northern Iowa series. The outfielder is ranked fifth in the conference with a .368 season batting average. She is also tied for first with her six doubles in the conference.
2. Dynamic Duo
   Lexi Benko and Gabbi Schnaiter were a force to reckon with earning a combined shutout win over UNI. Benko posted a 0.62 ERA in 11.1 innings of work going 1-0 over the weekend. Benko recorded 12 total strikeouts while only giving up a single earned run and only giving up two walks. Schnaiter posted a perfect ERA in 5.2 innings of work earning her first save of the season. She also fanned 12 batters only giving up four hits.
3. Scouting Butler
   The Bulldogs hold an overall record of 9-14, 2-7 in the Big East. Butler has a team batting average of .212 with 40 extra-base hits. The Bulldog pitching staff has a 3.05 ERA through 151.2 innings of action. Lauren Fey leads BU with a .455 average and 30 hits. Karli Ricketts has a 6-5 record on the mound and a 2.84 ERA in eight starts.
