TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State softball team is set to host Northern Iowa at Price Field in three-game series to continue Missouri Valley Conference play.
The Sycamores will open play on Saturday, Mar. 27 with a doubleheader slated to begin at noon with game two at 2 p.m. ET. The series finale will be played on Sunday, Mar. 28 with a start time of 11 a.m. ET.
Price Field is closed to the public and only fans on student-athletes pass list will be admitted into the complex.
Series History
Northern Iowa leads the all-time series 63-31 over Indiana State. The Sycamores took one game of the 2019 series with a 2-1 win over the Panthers.

- Proficient Peterson
Senior Bella Peterson has been a key offensive threat for the Sycamores with a team-leading .354 batting average (9th in MVC) starting in all 19 games. The outfielder has drove in 19 runs, while hitting five doubles, two triples and three home runs. Peterson also has a team leading .631 slugging percentage (4th in MVC) and her 23 hits (4th in MVC).
- Dynamic Duo
Arielle Blankenship and Gabbi Schnaiter earned the two wins over Memphis. Blankenship has a team best 3.55 ERA and is 2-2 on the year. Schnaiter has a 4.06 ERA and is 3-2 on the year.
- Preseason Poll
Indiana State was picked sixth in the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll. This is the highest they have been picked since being picked seventh in 2019 and 2020.
