SAINT LOUIS – The 2021 Missouri Valley Conference softball preseason poll was released on Tuesday morning with Indiana State picked to finish sixth. The Sycamores have started the 2021 season 6-10 after a series victory over Memphis last weekend, and now turn their attention to the Valley campaign.
 
Indiana State returns its entire pitching staff as well as six key position players. The Sycamores have also added depth with four true freshmen.
 
The Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll and preseason all-conference team is picked by a vote of the league coaches. Coaches may not vote for their own players for the preseason all-conference team.
 
The Sycamores will open Valley play this weekend, March 20-21, as they host Illinois State at Price Field.
