MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Indiana State softball team split a doubleheader at Memphis on Saturday afternoon. The Sycamores (5-11) took game one by a score of 6-1 and dropped the nightcap 8-2 at Tigers Softball Complex.
KEY MOMENT – GAME ONE
The Sycamores' offense used a four-run sixth inning to seal their victory over the Tigers. Hits from
Bella Peterson,
Kennedy Shade and
Amanda Guercio plated the six Indiana State runs.
Gabbi Schnaiter earned her third win of the season recording two strikeouts and
Arielle Blankenship closed the door throwing 3.1 innings posting three strikeouts.

The Sycamores loaded the bases to set up Amanda Guercio for a two-run single to right field that plated the first two runs of the game.

After the Trees loaded the bases for the second-consecutive inning, Kennedy Shade recorded her first hit and RBIÂ with a single to shortstop to plate another Sycamore run. Bella Peterson delivered a single scoring three more ISU runs with help from two Tiger errors.
Bottom 4th – (ISU 6, Memphis 1)
The Tigers loaded the bases with two walks and a single, then got on the board on a passed ball.
