MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Indiana State softball team split a doubleheader at Memphis on Saturday afternoon. The Sycamores (5-11) took game one by a score of 6-1 and dropped the nightcap 8-2 at Tigers Softball Complex.

KEY MOMENT – GAME ONE
The Sycamores' offense used a four-run sixth inning to seal their victory over the Tigers. Hits from Bella Peterson, Kennedy Shade and Amanda Guercio plated the six Indiana State runs. Gabbi Schnaiter earned her third win of the season recording two strikeouts and Arielle Blankenship closed the door throwing 3.1 innings posting three strikeouts.

SCORING SUMMARY – GAME ONE
Top 3rd – (ISU 2, Memphis 0)
The Sycamores loaded the bases to set up Amanda Guercio for a two-run single to right field that plated the first two runs of the game.
 
Top 4th – (ISU 6, Memphis 0)
After the Trees loaded the bases for the second-consecutive inning, Kennedy Shade recorded her first hit and RBI with a single to shortstop to plate another Sycamore run. Bella Peterson delivered a single scoring three more ISU runs with help from two Tiger errors.

Bottom 4th – (ISU 6, Memphis 1)
The Tigers loaded the bases with two walks and a single, then got on the board on a passed ball.

Junior TeAnn Bringle hit her first home run of the 2021 campaign to plate both of Indiana State's runs.

Bottom 2nd – (ISU 0, Memphis 2)
The Tigers plated two runs with a single to left field.
 
Top 4th – (ISU 2, Memphis 2)
TeAnn Bringle hit a 2-run homerun to tie the game.
 
Bottom 4th – (ISU 2, Memphis 5)
Memphis scored three runs to take the lead on an ISU error, a sacrifice fly and a single.
 
Bottom 5th – (ISU 2, Memphis 8)
The Tigers plated three runs with a bases-loaded double to center field.
