TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Sycamore women's basketball used a strong third quarter to pull away from in-state rival Evansville on Wednesday evening to help give Indiana State an 85-69 senior day victory over the Purple Aces.

With the win, Indiana State improves to 5-10 (2-10 MVC) while the Purple Aces fall to 6-13 (2-12 MVC).

It was a big offensive night for the Sycamores, led by
Adrian Folks with 23 points and 13 rebounds to go along with two steals while
Marie Hunter added 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double of her own.
Del'Janae Williams was also in double-figures with 12 points, all of which came in the first half from four-consecutive threes.

As a team, the Trees connected on 28-of-69 (40.6%) from the field and an impressive 21-of-25 (84.0%) from the free throw line. The Aces ended 21-of-64 (32.8%) from the field and 5-of-19 (26.3%) from behind the three-point line.

The Sycamores were dominant on the glass tonight, holding a 49-40 advantage over Evansville. The Trees also got seven steals as a team with a team-high three coming from
Caitlin Anderson. Anderson finished her evening with 11 points, five rebound and three steals.

Indiana State won the game, however, on the fast break. Forcing eight turnovers with their seven steals, Indiana State ended with a 27-0 fast-break point advantage over the Purple Aces.

Holding a 57-45 advantage late in the third, ISU put together a string of five-consecutive free throws to end the quarter and extend the lead to 62-47, never looking back and eventually pushing the lead to 23 with 8:06 remaining in the third quarter. The Sycamores won the third quarter 18-12, holding Evansville to just 2-of-13 from the field.

The Trees will close out the regular season next weekend, Mar. 5-6, when they travel to Peoria, Ill., for a season finale with Bradley.
