PEORIA, Ill. – A quick start from Bradley women's basketball propelled the Braves to an 86-52 victory over Indiana State on Friday night inside of Renaissance Coliseum.

Opening the game on a 19-2 run and holding a 37-4 advantage at the end of the first quarter, the Braves (13-11, 9-8 MVC) controlled every facet of the game and led buzzer-to-buzzer. The Sycamores fall to 5-13 (2-11 MVC) with the loss.
Â
A trio of Trees managed to finish in double-figures, led by
Marie Hunter and
Jasmine Elder who each ended with 13 points. Elder connected on three triples, ending 3-of-5 from deep.
Adrian Folks also put up 10 points to go along with three steals and two rebounds. As a team, the Sycamores ended 18-of-63 (28.6%) from the floor and 6-of-19 (31.6%) from distance.
Â
The Braves were led by Mahri Petree with 19 points while the team connected on 31-of-68 (45.6%) from the field and 8-of-21 (38.1%) from three-point range.

Despite the slow start to the game for the Trees, the Sycamores didn't quit fighting. Tightening up their defensive in the second frame, ISU held Bradley to just 4-of-17 (23.5%) from the floor to outscore the Braves 15-11 for the quarter. It was too little, too late for the Trees, however, as Bradley opened the game back up in the third quarter with 27 points.
Â
Both squads will meet again tomorrow, Mar. 6, at 5 p.m. ET in Renaissance Coliseum. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.
