Sycamores Unable to Keep Pace with Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. – Indiana State women's volleyball couldn't keep pace with a strong offensive attack from Bradley on Monday evening, falling to the Braves, 3-0.

After the 3-0 [23-25, 17-25, 15-25] defeat, the Sycamores fell to 2-5 (2-4 MVC) on the spring season while the Braves improved their record to 3-3 (3-3 MVC).

Defensively, the Sycamore put up the fourth-best effort in a three-set match in total digs, walking away with 80 on the evening. Junior libero Melina Tedrow once again led the effort, tallying 18 digs to end the series with 6.57 digs per set. Chloe Mason recorded her second-consecutive double-double with 18 assists and 12 digs. Gretchen Kuckkan contributed 13 digs over her own while Ashley Eck added 10. The Braves totaled 84 digs for the match and held a 7-2 advantage in total blocks.

Offensively for the Trees it was the Karinna Gall show. The freshman was the lone Sycamore to record double-digit kills, pacing ISU with 11 while hitting .286, seven of which came in the first set to help the Blue & White battle back and close the gap.

The match was won for the Braves on the offensive side of the net, hitting .201 compared to Indiana State's .104 to go along with 42 kills, including a .308 third set that put the Trees away.

Indiana State is back in action on Sunday, Feb. 22 when they welcome Loyola Chicago to the ISU Arena for a back-to-back home series. The match will be streamed live on the Valley on ESPN.
