TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State volleyball had one of their best offensive outings of the year on Sunday against Loyola Chicago, but the Sycamores were unable to overcome the Ramblers, falling 3-1.

With the 3-1 [20-25, 25-15, 22-25, 19-25] loss, the Sycamores fall to 2-6 (2-4 MVC) while Loyola improves to 6-2 (5-2 MVC).

It was a balanced offensive attack for the Blue & White, led by freshman
Mallory Keller who put down 14 kills while hitting .281. Sophomore
Taylor Shelton had her best output of the season, tallying 11 kills to go along with seven digs while
Karinna Gall ended with 11 kills as well. As a team the Sycamores hit .208 compared to Loyola's .194. Indiana State also held a 56-47 advantage in kills.

Chloe Mason recorded her third-consecutive double-double on Sunday afternoon, ending with 19 assists and 10 digs.
Mary Hannah Lewis also contributed 25 of the team's 55 total assists, giving ISU a 55-43 advantage over the opposition.

Indiana State also ended with nine service aces, two of which came from libero
Melina Tedrow. Tedrow led the defensive effort with 25 digs to go along with 11 assists, giving her the first double-double of her year. She is now just 24 digs away from joining the 1,000-dig club at ISU. The Sycamores ended their day with 65 digs for 16.25 digs per set.

At the net, the Trees got six block assists from
Kylie Newby while Gall chipped-in four of her own. Loyola held the advantage at the net however, ending with 10 total blocks to ISU's 6.

After falling in a close first set that featured four aces from the visiting Ramblers, the Sycamores turned up the pressure in set two. Loyola was held to .000 hitting with just nine kills while the Blue & White put together 13 kills and hit .222 for the 25-15 victory.

Set three featured a tightly-contested game with both teams recording 14 kills. The Ramblers managed to outlast the Trees for a 25-22 victory despite two service aces and four blocks from ISU. Defensively, Loyola took control in the final set, using six blocks and three service aces to keep the Sycamore comeback from occurring, taking the frame 25-19.

Both squads will meet once again tomorrow in the ISU Arena, this time at 4 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
