ST. LOUIS – For the second time during the 2019-20 Sycamore women's basketball campaign,
Jamyra McChristine has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week.

The junior is coming off of a stellar weekend of competition against Northern Iowa and Drake. McChristine led the charge on Thursday against Northern Iowa, helping the Sycamores upset the Panthers and earn their first win over UNI since March 8, 2014 behind a career-high 24 points and nine rebounds as well as two steals. Then on Saturday, the junior recorded 22 points and eight boards against Drake, the highest point total for the Sycamores against the Bulldogs since Bilqis Abdul-Qaadi put up 26 on January 5, 2014. On the weekend, McChristine averaged 23 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting 20-28 from the floor.

McChristine and the Sycamores will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 21 when they travel to Carbondale, Ill. for a matchup with Southern Illinois.
