CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Indiana State came up short against Ohio University, 10-7 on Saturday morning.
Saturday mornings contest was a battle between the Sycamores and the Bobcats. Both teams recorded 16 hits in the contest.
Leslie Sims lead the Sycamores going 5-for-3 with two RBIs.

Ohio got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning leading off with a double and bringing her around to score. Indiana State would answer in the top of the fourth tying the game with an RBI bunt single from
Leslie Sims bringing in
TeAnn Bringle.
The Bobcats answered in the bottom half of the fourth putting up a four spot all with two outs.
Indiana State's bats were hot putting up five runs in the top of the sixth with a RBI double by
Grace Hunger, a RBI single from
Leslie Sims, a two RBI double from
Bella Peterson, and a RBI single from
Mycaela Miller.
Ohio wasn't going anywhere putting up five runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 10-6 lead.
The Sycamores got one run back in the top of the seventh but came up short.
Arielle Blankenship (0-2) was charged with the loss throwing 2.0 innings allowing five runs (all earned) on seven hits with no walks and no strikeouts.
Abbey Kruzel got the start for the Sycamores throwing 3.2 innings, allowing four runs (all earned) on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Della Gher allowed one run (earned) on three hits with no walks in 0.1 innings. Madi McCardy (1-3) was credited with the win allowing six runs (all earned) on 13 hits with three walks and two strikeouts throwing 6.0 innings. Baylie Thornhill picked up the save throwing 1.0 inning allowing one run on three hits with no walks and no strikeouts.
