INDIANA STATE NOTES | DRAKE NOTES

NOTES
  • The Series: Indiana State and Drake meet for the 81st time on Thursday with Drake holding a 57-23 advantage in the series. Drake won the first matchup this season on January 17, 105-65, in Des Moines.
  • A Win Would: A win on Saturday would give the Sycamores their first winning streak since a three-game winning streak from Nov. 7-23, 2018. It would also break a seven-game losing skid to the Bulldogs and give Vicki Hall her first win over Drake as the Indiana State head coach.
  • Streak Broken: The Sycamores shocked the Valley on Thursday evening, taking down Northern Iowa in the Hulman Center, 65-63 after trailing by eight in the fourth quarter. It was Indiana State's first win over the Panthers since March 8, 2014 when ISU earned an 85-72 victory in Cedar Falls. The victory also speaks to the improvement that the Trees have made throughout the season, as UNI defeated ISU in Cedar Falls in January by 30 points.
  • Junior Leadership: Jamyra McChristine played a key role in the Sycamores' success on Thursday night against Northern Iowa. The junior tallied a career-high 24 points to lead all scorers while also pulling down a game-high nine rebounds. Fellow junior CeCe Mayo was also an important piece, adding 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
  • A Clean Game: Indiana State played their best game in five years when it came to turnovers on Thursday evening against UNI. The Sycamores ended the game with just eight turnovers, the first time recording less than 10 turnovers since February 1, 2015 against Evansville. In addition to a clean game on offense, the Trees forced the Panthers into 21 turnovers on the defensive end.
