CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Tennessee Tech's six run first inning was too much for Indiana State. The Sycamores never lead in the contest, losing 11-3 in six innings. The blue and white were out hit by the Golden Eagles, 9-6.
Tennessee Tech struck first in the top of the first scoring six runs on five hits and three errors.
Indiana State scored two of their runs on two bases loaded walks by Leslie Sims and Amanda Guercio.
The Golden Eagles added two more runs in the top of the fourth.
Mallory Marsicek led off the bottom of the fourth with a double and scored later in the inning on the RBI single by Becky Malchow.
Tennesee Tech added three more runs in the top of the sixth to seal mthe deal.
Arielle Blankenship was charged with the loss (0-1) in 5.1 innings, allowing ten runs (6 earned) on nine hits with four walks and two strikeouts. Peyton Ottersbach threw 0.2 innings in relief, allowing one run on no hits and three walks. Alyssa Arden (3-1) was credited with the win in a complete game performance for Tennessee Tech, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits with five walks and seven strikeouts.
