TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's basketball will welcome in-state and Missouri Valley Conference rival Evansville to the Hulman Center on Friday for a 7 p.m. ET tip.
 
Friday's contest is also the Sara Compton Teacher Appreciation game for Indiana State. Sara Compton was a high school teacher of head coach Vicki Hall's and she will be honored alongside every 2019 Vigo County Teacher of the Year.

• The Series: Indiana State and Evansville meet for the 56th time on Friday with ISU holding a 37-18 advantage in the series. ISU and UE split the season series last season.
• A Win Would: A win on Sunday afternoon would snap the Sycamores' 16 game losing skid and give Vicki Hall a winning record against the Purple Aces. The winner on Friday will also avoid sitting alone in 10th in the Valley. 
• In-State Rival Up Next: Friday is a big game for Indiana State women's basketball, as the Sycamores welcome Evansvile to the Hulman Center. Both ISU and UE enter the game trying to avoid 10th-place in the league, as each hold 0-8 record in the conference. The Trees hold the advantage in the all-time series, 37-18, including a 20-7 mark in the Hulman Center, but the Sycamores and Aces split the series a year ago with Evansville picking up a 59-56 win in Terre Haute.
• Getting to the Line: Indiana State manages to get to the free throw line more than almost anyone else in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Sycamores have taken 399 attempts at the line this season, second only to Missouri State's 401, and converted on 246, the fourth-most made free throws in the Valley. The flip-side is that the Trees own the worst percentage at the charity stripe in the league, hitting at a clip of 61.7%.
• Terre Haute's Team: Despite the tough start to the season, the fanbase around Indiana State women's basketball continues to be one of the best in the Missouri Valley Conference. ISU averages an attendance of 1,344 during their eight home games, trailing only Drake, Missouri State and Northern Iowa in the conference.
