ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll was released on Wednesday morning. The Sycamores, who finished ninth in the Valley last year with a 19-35 (5-21) record, were projected to finish seventh in 2020.

Indiana State returns five key position players from last year's squad and adds to its depth with eight newcomers including seven freshmen and one transfer.
The Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll and preseason all-conference team is picked by a vote of the league coaches. Coaches may not vote for their own players for the preseason all-conference team.
Indiana State, which enters its third season under the direction of
Mike Perniciaro, opens the 2020 campaign in Boca Raton, Fla. on Feb. 7 at the FAU First Pitch Classic on the campus of Florida Atlantic University. The Sycamores home opener is slated for Mar. 14 and 15 for a three-game series with preseason favorite Drake.
