Sunday Showdown with Southern Illinois on Deck for Sycamores

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Sycamore women's basketball will have a bounce-back opportunity on Sunday when they matchup with Southern Illinois at 2 p.m. ET in the Hulman Center.

  • The Series: Indiana State and Southern Illinois meet for the 93rd time on Sunday with SIU holding a 47-45 advantage in the series. ISU and SIU split the season series last season.
  • A Win Would: A win on Sunday afternoon would snap the Sycamores' 15 game losing skid and give Vicki Hall a winning record against the Salukis.
  • Terre Haute's Team: Despite the tough start to the season, the fanbase around Indiana State women's basketball continues to be one of the best in the Missouri Valley Conference. ISU averages an attendance of 1,309 during their seven home games, trailing only Drake, Missouri State and Northern Iowa in the conference.
  • Hitting the Boards: ISU can boast themselves as one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Trees have pulled down 235 offensive boards in 19 games, giving them an average of 12.4 per-game which is the second-best number in the Valley. Jamyra McChristine leads the blue and white with 6.2 rebounds per game.
  • It Starts with Defense: The Sycamores have established themselves as one of the better defensive teams in the Valley this season, recording 166 steals throughout the season for an average of 8.74 steals-per-game, fourth-best in the MVC.
