CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Northern Iowa continued their home court dominance over Indiana State on Saturday, defeating the Sycamores in four sets at the McLeod Center.

The Sycamores did manage to claim their first set victory over the Panthers since 2016, but ultimately fell to UNI, 3-1 [25-17, 26-24, 25-27, 25-16].

For the second-consecutive match and eighth time this season, freshman setter
Chloe Mason recorded a double-double. The Terre Haute native ended the night with 23 assists to lead the team, as well as 13 digs.

Offensively Indiana State ended the match with 49 kills while hitting .151. They were led by
Madeline Williams who tallied 14 kills to go along with one solo block and one block assist.

Nikkie white also reached double-digit kills, recording 10 on the night and she also added one solo block and one block assist.

Defensively, the Trees wracked-up 76 digs and were led by freshman
Gretchen Kuckkan. The outside hitter matched her total from last night's match against Drake with 23, while libero
Melina Tedrow added 21 digs.

UNI finished the match with 78 digs and five total blocks, while the blue and white held the edge in total blocks with six.

Set One - Northern Iowa 25, Indiana State 17
- White and Williams continued to be the offensive leaders for Indiana State as each recorded four kills.
- As a team, Indiana State tallied 11 digs and hit .119 while the Panthers ended with 14 kills and hit .265.
- Tedrow was strong on defense with five digs in the frame.
- The Sycamores earned two total blocks while UNI got zero, as Kuckkan and White both recorded a solo block.

Set Two - Northern Iowa 26, Indiana State 24
- Kuckkan and Rhiannon Morozoff led ISU offensively with three kills each.
- Indiana State once again tallied 11 kills while hitting .130 and UNI finished with 16 kills at .180.
- In addition to leading the offensive effort, Kucckan also gathered 10 digs in the frame.
- The serving game was strong for the blue and white as they recorded three aces with two coming from Williams and one coming from Mason.

Set Three - Indiana State 27, Northern Iowa 25
- Strong offense propelled the Trees past the Panthers as they hit .368 for the set with 18 kills.
- ISU ended the frame on a 3-0 run, which included two kills from Williams.
- Williams recorded a total of five kills in the set.
- Mason entered double-digit digs with 11, giving her the eighth double-double of the season.
- Leading the defense was Tedrow with seven digs while Kuckkan gathered five.
- UNI hit .270 to go along with 13 kills, their lowest total of the match.

Set Four - Northern Iowa 25, Indiana State 16
- Northern Iowa took control from the beginning and hit .231 with 12 kills while ISU hit .000 and just nine kills.
- Defensively, Kuckkan tallied six digs, pushing the Sycamore total to 76.
- Mason added four more assists to her total, giving her 23 for the match.
- UNI took control of the net, finishing with two total blocks in the frame.
