TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State was unable to overcome a strong defensive effort from Bradley on Monday evening as the Braves defeated the Sycamores, 3-1.

The freshmen duo of
Chloe Mason and
Taylor Shelton were impressive throughout the night as both ended the evening with double-doubles. Mason tallied a career-high 35 assists to go along with 12 digs, while Shelton finished with a career-best 11 kills and 10 digs.

Melina Tedrow recorded a match-high and season-best 29 digs, while
Gretchen Kuckkan earned 19 digs of her own.

As a team defensively, Indiana State gathered 93 digs compared to Bradley's 80. The Braves dominated the net game on Monday evening, however, recording 11 total blocks to ISU's two. Kat Poore led the Braves with six block assists and one solo block.

Offensively, Indiana State ended with more kills than the opposition, 51-48, but the Braves finished with a higher hit percentage, .213-.140. The blue and white was led by redshirt senior
Cassie Kawa who tallied 15 kills.

ISU earned the edge in the setting game as well, finishing with 49 total assists to just four errors compared to Bradley's 41 assists.

Set One - Bradley 25, Indiana State 15
- Bradley held the Sycamore offense in-check, allowing a hitting percentage of .171 and just nine kills.
- Kuckkan was strong defensively with seven digs in the frame.
- Mason finished the set with five of ISU's eight assists.

Set Two - Indiana State 26, Bradley 24
- The Braves and Sycamores went back-and-forth all set before the blue and white was finally able to win the frame with a service ace from Jade York.
- The ISU defense was impressive with 26 digs, led by Tedrow who tallied seven.
- Shelton attacked the net well, recording six kills.
- The Trees finished with 18 kills while Bradley ended with 12.

Set Three - Bradley 25, Indiana State 21
- Bradley ended the frame on a mini 3-0 run to pull away from Indiana State.
- Mason recorded 15 of her 35 assists in the set.
- ISU attacked the net well again, owning a 16-11 edge in kills, but the Braves were impressive defensively, finishing with five blocks.
- Tedrow gathered 12 of the Sycamores' 34 digs.

Set Four - Bradley 25, Indiana State 17
- Errors plagued the blue and white as they finished with seven attack errors to just eight kills.
- Kawa earned 4 kills during the set, the most by a Sycamore.
- Bradley held the edge in hitting percent, .323-.031.
