DAYTON, Ohio – Indiana State was in the match until the very end, but dropped a five-set heartbreaker to tournament host Wright State on Friday evening, 3-2.

Gretchen Kuckkan had a strong match for the blue and white, recording her third-career double-double with 13 kills and 24 digs.

As a team, Indiana State hit .147 on the match compared to Wright State's .195. ISU and WSU were close in total kills as well with 64 and 63, respectively.

The Trees got back to their defensive ways, owning the edge in total digs over the opposition, 98-89. Libero
Melina Tedrow and Kuckkan recorded the most for the Sycamores with 24 while Jenna Story led WSU with 33.

Wright State recorded more blocks than the Trees on Friday, earning nine to ISU's six. Redshirt senior
Cassie Kawa led the way with 3 blocks on the blue and white side.

ISU finished the match with more assists than the Raiders, 62-56, and were led by freshman
Chloe Mason who ended with 30.

Set One - Indiana State 25, Wright State 22
- The Trees had their best offensive set of the season, hitting .265 to go along with 17 kills and just four errors.
- Wright State also had a decent set, hitting .240 to go with 16 kills.
- Defensively, both ISU and WSU tallied 26 digs and the Sycamores were led by Tedrow with seven.
- Madeline Williams ended with the lone service ace for the blue and white, giving ISU a 24-22 advantage in the set.
- Kuckkan recorded six kills for ISU while Mason assisted on seven kills.

Set Two - Wright State, 25, Indiana State 23
- Opposite the first set, both teams struggled on offense with ISU hitting just .050 while WSU hit .041.
- The Sycamores tallied 10 kills and eight errors to the Raiders' 12 kills and 10 errors. The Trees were led by Taylor Shelton who finished the frame with three kills.
- The blue and white ended with more digs in the set by a margin of 23-22. Kuckkan tallied a team-best seven digs.
- Continuing from the previous two weekends, Kawa had a strong defensive showing with three blocks.

Set Three - Wright State 25, Indiana State 16
- Wright State took their play to another level in the third frame, hitting .267 with 12 kills to just four errors. ISU hit .125 with 11 kills and seven errors.
- Mason added seven assists to her overall total, giving her 20 through three.
- Tedrow led the defensive effort with four digs while Mason gather three.
- The Raiders dominated the serving game with four for the set.

Set Four - Indiana State 26, Wright State 24
- Indiana State showed grit in the fourth frame, battling from behind early to take the set, 26-24.
- ISU tallied 12 kills, same as Wright State, but earned three aces to the Raiders' one.
- Kuckkan recorded four of the Sycamores' 14 digs while Wright State ended with just 11.
- Helping the offense, Mason pushed her assist total to 27.
- Tedrow, Kuckkan, Mason and Shelton all had double-digit digs by the end of the set.

Set Five - Wright State 20, Indiana State 18
- ISU recorded 14 kills to six errors compared to WSU's 11 kills and three errors.
- The Trees hit .178 on the set while Wright State hit .205.
- The Sycamores had the edge in digs, 23-21, and were led by Kuckkan with four in the set.
