GREEN BAY, Wis. – In the first match of the day at the Green Bay Invitational, Indiana State fell to Fresno State despite a hard-fought third set by the Sycamores.

Fresno State overtook the Sycamores in straight sets, winning the match 3-0 [25-14, 25-18, 25-20].

For the second consecutive game, ISU struggled on the offensive end, hitting .084 for the match compared to Fresno State's .281. A big difference in the match came from 48 kills for Fresno State while the Sycamores tallied just 24 to go along with 16 attack errors.

It wasn't all bad, however, as a pair of Sycamores had a decent day on offense.
Taylor Shelton finished with 11 kills and just one error while hitting .455 and
Cassie Kawa ended at six kills and no errors.

The Bulldogs were led Desiree Sukhov with 13 kills, two assists and five digs. Setter Madelyn Halteman gave Fresno State good production as well with 33 assists.

Defensively the Trees recorded more digs than the Bulldogs, 47-46, to go along with seven blocks for the match. Freshmen
Gretchen Kuckkan and
Chloe Mason both recorded double-digit digs at 11 and 10, respectively.

Only one Bulldog was able to tally more than 10 digs with Reagan Leonard finishing at 12.

First Set - Fresno State 25, Indiana State 14
- It was a tough frame on offense for the blue and white, hitting -.032.
- Indiana State recorded just four kills in the set compared to 16 by Fresno State.
- Cassie Kawa tallied two of the Trees' four kills.

Second Set - Fresno State 25, Indiana State 18
- Freshman Taylor Shelton came alive during the second set, tallying six kills and no errors while hitting .429.
- Junior setter Mary Hannah Lewis earned four assists in the set to lead the Trees.
- Chloe Mason led the defensive effort with four digs in the frame.
- Fresno State continued to hit well at .350 to ISU's .143.

Third Set - Fresno State 25, Indiana State 20
- Gretchen Kuckkan ended with five digs in the final set to lead Indiana State.
- Shelton once again was the bright spot on offense, registering five kills to only one error.
- ISU battled with a 4-0 run to pull within 21-19 before falling 25-20. Kuckkan recorded two kills during the run.
