TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State head basketball coach
Greg Lansing announced today (July 31) that this year's non-conference schedule has been completed. The full slate including all 18 Missouri Valley Conference contests will be announced in September.
Scheduling was a challenge this year due to the on going Hulman Center renovations. The building is closed until just before Thanksgiving, but will once again be the host to Sycamore Basketball for a full 13-game home slate this season.
ISU opens with close road contests at Dayton on Nov. 9 and then Louisville on Nov. 13. The Sycamores will take on in-state rival Ball State on either Nov. 16 or 17 at Banker's Life Fieldhouse (dependent on Indiana Pacers schedule).
"I am glad to have this year's non-conference schedule completed," coach Lansing said. "We are excited about the Hulman Center renovations but it makes scheduling even that more difficult. Having to start the season with seven straight road games is almost unheard of in Division I. We are going to face a very challenging schedule, but it will be fun to compete against a high level of competition. This year's schedule features road games which our fans can drive to plus four quality home games. We look forward to everyone supporting the program by purchasing season tickets this year."
The Sycamores will then travel to Bimini, Bahamas for the 2019 Junkanoo Jam. ISU will face off against Duquesne (Nov. 21), Loyola Marymount (Nov. 22) and Air Force (Nov. 24) as part of tournament play.
Then as the calendar passes past Thanksgiving, the Sycamores will play four of their five final non-conference games at home. Missouri-St. Louis comes to Hulman Center for the home opener on Saturday, Nov. 30. Then home portion of the schedule rolls along against North Dakota State on December 3 as the first game of a doubleheader.
ISU returns to Dayton on December 7 -- this time to face off against Wright State. The non-conference slate wraps up on December 18 against Tennessee State and then on December 22 versus Chicago State.
Game times and television designations will be announced at a later date.
Season tickets to Sycamore Basketball are on sale now at the Hulman Center Box Office (temporary location inside Tirey Hall) or by calling 1-877-ISU-TIXS or visiting
