TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Continuing what is now a 12-game road swing, Indiana State will head to Eastern Illinois on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader.
Action in Charleston is set to begin at 5 p.m. ET (4 p.m. CT) at Williams Field. Live Stats will be available at GoSycamores.com.
Series History
A pair of former conference mates in the Gateway Conference – the predecessor to the Missouri Valley Conference – meet for the 75
th and 76
th time on Wednesday. EIU holds a 45-29 advantage in the all-time series and the Panthers have a slight 11-9 advantage in games since 2000.
Three Things to Know
- Home Away from Home
Kudos to Turner Bus Lines for providing the Sycamores a home away from home. That is because Indiana State is in the middle of a 12-game road streak. ISU last played at Price Field on March 23 and is not slated to return to the Wabash Valley's friendly confines until April 13.
- Brooke is the (Wo)Mann…
...and we don't suggest you test her. The senior catcher for the Sycamores is tied for first in the Valley among the league catchers for gunning down runners in their tracks with 11 runners stopped in their tracks this season. With numbers like that, we really suggest you don't test that arm.
- Which Team Will Turn Things Around?
Both Indiana State (eight games) and Eastern Illinois (five games) have lost a string of games lately and both sit at 1-7 in their respective conferences. Wednesday's doubleheader provides an opportunity for both teams to gain some momentum before returning to conference play this weekend.
