ST. LOUIS – Indiana State women's basketball forward Jamyra McChrstine was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week after averaging 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per-game last week.
 
McChristine provided a strong inside presence for the Sycamores during their two games last week. The junior forward nearly averaged a double-double at 12.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and two steals per-game. Against Marshall on Tuesday, McChristine tallied 10 points and pulled down five boards. She then put up an impressive 15 point-14 rebound game against Murray State on Saturday which included four steals. McChristine now has two double-doubles on the year.
 
The Sycamores will be back in action after finals week has concluded, taking on Northern Kentucky on Monday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. ET.
