TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The Sycamores dominated in the pool on Friday evening winning every event for the second consecutive meet while two swimmers claimed multiple victories.
The Sycamores topped Big East opponent Xavier by a final score of 199-62.
Surging Sycamores
Indiana State went one-two-three in the 1000 freestyle with
Andrea Putrimas leading the way with a time of 10:26.90.
Emily Webb and
Molly Fogarty followed her with times of 10:32.39 and 10:36.91.
Senior
Kendall Hansen claimed two victories, first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.23 while also claiming the top spot in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.58.
Canada-native
Marni Gray also came away with two individual victories on Friday night, winning the 200 butterfly and 100 butterfly. Gray finished in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:06.92, while earning a time of 57.28 in the 100 butterfly.
Freshman
Sarah Moreau claimed first place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.77. Moreau was also a part of the 400 medley relay team who also claimed first place.
Christensen's Corner
"We did well tonight. Really pleased with our energy and execution throughout the meet. Had some pretty big breakthrough swims this evening, which was exciting to see. I'm really proud of this team and how they go about things" Head Coach
Josh Christensen said. "We've got a big challenge tomorrow, with a short turn around. This will test our mental and physical toughness and help us prepare for championship meets. A great opportunity for us to continue to learn and grow as a team."
