FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Indiana State struggled offensively in the program's first match in the state of Colorado as the Sycamores dropped a 3-0 decision at Colorado State in front of 2,078 fans at Moby Arena Friday evening.
 
The Sycamores (6-4) hit .000 (25 kills, 25 errors, 81 attempts) in the match, hit into nine Colorado State blocks and served up seven service errors with no aces to a team that received 18 points in this week's top 25 poll.
 
Laura Gross led ISU with nine kills while Gross and Makayla Knoblauch led the Trees defensively with six digs each.
 
Colorado State (7-3) used the home court advantage to power its way to a .375 hitting mark and tallied six service aces in the match.
 
Set scores were 25-17, 25-14 and 25-14.
 
SET 1 – Colorado State 25, Indiana State 17

• Laura Gross registered four of her six digs in the opening set.
• ISU hit a match-best .148 but Colorado State powered a .417 hitting percentage.
• Two of Indiana State's four blocks in the match came in this set with Gross and Rhiannon Morozoff each registering a block solo.

SET 2 – Colorado State 25, Indiana State 14

• Laura Gross again led ISU with three kills.
• Devynn Merriman led the Sycamores with two digs.
• ISU hit -.087 to the Rams' .400 mark.
• The Sycamores were out-blocked in the set, 5 to 1.

SET 3 – Colorado State 25, Indiana State 14

• Indiana State posted a -.065 hitting percentage to Colorado State's .321 mark.
• Laura Gross's three kills in the set led ISU.
• Makayla Knoblauch led ISU with four digs.

NOTABLES

• Colorado State now leads the all-time series over Indiana State 1-0.
• This marked Indiana State's first-ever match in the state of Colorado.
• This marked the first match of the season when Indiana State has faced a team receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 poll.
