On Saturday April 15th, the Indiana State Strength and Conditioning staff hosted the fourth annual Indiana State Strength and Conditioning Clinic. This clinic provided strength and conditioning coaches, sport coaches, athletic trainers, rehabilitation specialists, and personal trainers with a full day of learning from some of the top professionals in their fields through a combination of presentations and hands-on demonstrations.
The speaker lineup included Keith Caton (Indiana University, Director of Strength and Conditioning, Football), Roger Maradino (Former Head Strength Coach, Indianapolis Colts), Luke Harris (Director of Strength and Conditioning Whiteland High School), Kellen Moore (Athletic Trainer, Indianapolis Colts), and Lauren Link (Head Dietitian, Purdue University)
The Clinic was held at the Indiana State University Hulman Memorial Student Union. This was the second year that the clinic was headed up by Assistant Strength Coach James Smith and had more attendees than any year before. Director David McMannus spoke about the importance of hosting the clinic "We love hosting this event and wanted to thank everyone for coming out. It's important to advance the field of sport performance and we want Indiana State University to be a part of that movement. It's really exciting too because we have a new facility being built and can't wait to host next year's event in that facility and do more hands on experiences for our clinic attendees."
The clinic also has NSCA Certification Executive Council approval for 0.6 CEU(s) for CSCS and NSCA-CPT & CSCCa Board of Education approval for 2.75 CEU(s) for SCCC
The Indiana State Strength and Conditioning Clinic has been made possible by the financial support of ISU Center for Community Engagement through an Experiential Learning Grant and our other amazing sponsors. Various sponsors were in attendance and provided product samples and giveaways for attendee's.
