CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri State scored in each of the first three innings and held Indiana State to just five hits in a 5-1 decision in the first game of a doubleheader in Cape Girardeau.

Indiana State (12-9) scored in the bottom of the third, already trailing by three runs and the lone run came as
Kristen Kelly, pinch-running for
Kylie Stober, stole home on a delayed double steal as
Leslie Sims took second.

Southeast Missouri (10-9) would add one more run in the bottom of the third before
Arielle Blankenship replaced starter
Abbey Kruzel (2-3) in the circle. Blankenship finished the final 3 2/3 innings, allowing only one unearned run on one hit. She did not issue a walk and struck out one Redhawk batter.
