TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – "It ain't over 'til it's over," Yogi Berra infamously once said. No truer words could describe Friday's match when Indiana State was up, then tied, fell behind, then rallied back for a 3-2 win over Evansville in front of a season-large crowd of 469 at ISU Arena.

The Sycamores held a 2-0 lead, then allowed Evansville (9-20, 3-13 Missouri Valley) to even the match at two sets apiece. Trailing 9-5 in the fifth set, Indiana State (10-18, 3-13) went on a 10-2 run to clinch the set and the match victory. Set scores were 25-21, 25-21, 21-25, 14-25 and 15-11.

The win – the ninth consecutive over Evansville at ISU Arena for the Sycamores – came by way of three players in the Blue and White reaching double figures in kills while three posted double figures in digs. Only
Laura Gross claimed credit for both, registering her 37
th career double-double.

Indiana State was led by Gross's 13 kills and 20 digs while
Cassie Kawa also put down 13 kills.
Jade York registered a match-high 25 digs while
Chloe Carenza recorded a career-high 18 digs.

Evansville was led by the 21 kills from Rachel Tam. The Purple Aces had three players, including Tam, in double digit kills while Alondra Vazquez's 21 digs led a defensive effort that had five players in double-digit digs.

SET 1 – Indiana State 25, Evansville 21
- Indiana State recorded five total blocks in the opening set, compared to Evansville's two.
- The two teams each had 13 kills but ISU hit .222 compared to Evansville's .087 mark.
- Rhiannon Morozoff and Laura Gross each had three kills in the set. Three other players put down two kills.
- Rachel Tam led Evansville with six kills in the frame while Alondra Vazquez recorded five kills.
SET 2 – Indiana State 25, Evansville 21
- Laura Gross led the Sycamores with six kills in the set, hitting .385.
- Evansville hit .140 in the set, led by Rachel Tam's seven kills.
- ISU hit .237 as a team in the frame.
- The Sycamores out-blocked Evansville in the set, 3-1.
SET 3 – Evansville 25, Indiana State 21
- Indiana State hit .143 as a team in the set while Evansville hit .205.
- Cassie Kawa led the Sycamores in the frame with four kills and a .444 hitting percentage.
- Five different Evansville players registered multiple kills in the set with no player putting down more than three.
- ISU was out-blocked in the set, 2-1.
SET 4 – Evansville 25, Indiana State 14
- Cassie Kawa led Indiana State with three kills while Laura Gross hit .286 in the set.
- As a team, the Sycamores hit -.059 in the set and did not record a block.
- Evansville hit .212 in the set and were led by Rachel Tam's four kills.
- Jade York posted five digs in the frame.

SET 5 – Indiana State 15, Evansville 11
- Indiana State trailed 9-5 in the set before finishing the match and clinching the win with a 10-2 run.
- ISU hit .200 in the final set compared to Evansville's .801.
- Damadj Johnson led all players with six digs in the set.
- Melina Tedrow's service ace forced match point as part of that 10-2 run.

- Indiana State is now 45-30 all-time against Evansville.
- Indiana State is now 27-9 all-time over UE in Terre Haute.
- This marks the ninth consecutive win over the Purple Aces in Terre Haute.
- The win marks Indiana State's 11th win over Evansville in the last 13 meetings.
- The Sycamores are now 3-2 in five-set matches this season.
