TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State Track and Field and Cross Country programs have implemented the 'Coaching Trees' initiative to recognize all active and inactive alumni who are coaching or have coached at the collegiate or high school level, Program Director
Angela Martin announced Tuesday.
"This list was started by Coach McNichols several years ago and we have continuously added to it. Coach Gartland recently brought it up and has worked hard to re-create the list. We have such a rich tradition at Indiana State within our track and field and cross country programs. It is awesome to see that our traditions reach out into so many communities. Our alumni have chosen to give back to the sport they grew up in and it is great to see the Sycamore legacy continuing on all around the world."
The Sycamores boast over 120 active and inactive athletes who have coached or are coaching at the high school and college level. Currently, five alumni serve on the Indiana State coaching staff including Program Director
Angela Martin and assistant coaches
Jeff Martin,
Kyle Walsh,
Anthony Bertoli and
Darrow Ramsey.
