EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Madeline Williams led Indiana State with 10 kills but Evansville had three players with double-digit kills and hit an impressive .299 in a 3-0 win over the Sycamores in Missouri Valley Conference action Saturday night. Set scores were 25-16, 25-16 and 25-21.
 
Indiana State (8-13, 1-8), despite serving up its most aces in a match (4) since Sept. 8, hit just .163 in the match. Evansville (8-14, 2-7) registered seven aces and six blocks total in the match.
 
The Purple Aces were led by Rachel Tam's 16 kills while Kerra Cornist and Mildrelis Rodriguez each added 10 kills.
 
SET 1 – Evansville 25, Indiana State 16

• Madeline Williams led ISU with four kills in the set, hitting .400.
• Chloe Carenza led the Sycamores in the set with four digs.
• The two teams were even in blocks, 3-3.
• Indiana State hit .143 to Evansville's .325.

SET 2 – Evansville 25, Indiana State 16

• Madeline Williams led ISU with 4 kills in the set, hitting .800.
• The Sycamores hit .269 as a team to Evansville's .312.
• Evansville recorded five service aces to Indiana State's one.

SET 3 – Evansville 25, Indiana State 21

• The Sycamores only hit .097 in the set while Evansville hit .257.
• Laura Gross and Nikkie White each posted three kills to lead ISU in the set.
• Rachel Tam led Evansville with seven kills in the set.
• Gross led the defensive effort with three digs.

NOTABLES

• Despite the loss, Indiana State still leads the overall series over Evansville, 44-30.
• This marks the first time since 2009-10 that Evansville has won two in a row over Indiana State.
• Madeline Williams posted 10 kills, reaching double-digits for just the fourth time this season.
• Laura Gross led the defense with eight digs despite posting a season-low six kills.
