SEATTLE - Indiana State split its doubleheader with No. 12 Washington Saturday at a wet Husky Ballpark in Seattle, taking the nightcap 5-3 after falling in the opener 8-0. Indiana State improved to 7-8 on the season after picking up its second win over a ranked team in as many days. The Huskies fell to 8-6 with the split.

Game Two | Indiana State 5, No. 12 Washington 3
Will Kincanon (1-2) had himself a day on the mound for the Sycamores as the junior right-hander came just one out shy of a complete game in the win, striking out a career high 11 batters en route to the win.

It marked the best outing of the season for the Riverside, Illinois native as he threw first-pitch strikes to 26 of the 35 batters he faced while sitting down the Husky battery in order twice in the contest.

The Sycamore offense did its part in the win, coming through with eight hits, including two insurance runs in the ninth inning that proved to be huge. Heading into the final inning with a 3-2 lead,
Dane Giesler singled to leadoff the frame before
Tony Rosselli, who pinch ran was able to come in on a
Danny Camilo sacrifice fly for the first run.
Brandt Nowaskie came up with his second hit of the night on an RBI single to left to extend the Sycamore lead to 5-2.

Austin Conway entered the game with two outs in the ninth, inducing the fly ball to record his fourth save of the season and securing the win for the Sycamores.

Indiana State tied the game at one in the third on a
Clay Dungan RBI single that scored Nowaskie from third. The Sycamores would take the lead in the sixth on a Dungan RBI double which scored
Dominic Bifano who reached to leadoff the inning. Dungan would be sent home in the very next at bat when
Chris Ayers doubled to right-center.

The Sycamores came up with clutch at bats during the game, going 4-of-11 with runners on and 3-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Dungan, Ayers and Nowaskie each came up with two hits each. Ayers doubled twice to go along with an RBI while Nowaskie doubled and drove in a run. Dungan recorded his third multi RBI game of the season finishing with two.

Washington's Joe DeMers threw a complete-game shutout in game one of Saturday's doubleheader as the Huskies defeated Indiana State 8-0.

The Sycamores had a chance to break up the shutout in the ninth but UW's Ben Baird made a diving stop at third to throw out
Chris Ayers at first to end the game. It marks the second time ISU has been shutout this year.

Washington jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the early after the first batter of the game walked, followed by a single to right from MJ Meggs. That was when John Naff tripled home both runs on a ball out to right-center later in the inning.

The Sycamores had an opportunity to score in the top of the third after
Jeff Zahn led off the inning with a single. ISU eventually had a runners at second and third, but could not capitalize on a Washington error, stranding both runners.

Meggs would add to the Husky lead in the third with a leadoff home run and Washington would not look back. The Sycamores were sloppy in the field, committing three errors in the game leading to a pair of unearned runs for the Huskies.

Jeremy McKinney was charged with the loss, falling to 3-1 on the season after going 5.1 innings and allowing three earned runs. The right-hander tied a season high with nine strikeouts in his outing.

Reliever
Tyler Grauer struggled in his appearance out of the bullpen, giving up three runs on a pair of hits.

Sophomore
Evan Giles put together a solid day out of the bullpen, going 2.2 innings in relief and not allowing a run while striking out one.

No Sycamore hitter had more than one hit in the game.
Ryan Toliver went for a pinch hit double in the ninth while Zahn finished 1-for-3.

Washington outhit the Sycamores 10-5 in the game.

The Sycamores will close out the series with Washington Sunday at 5 p.m. ET at Husky Ballpark. The game will air on the PAC 12 Network.
