TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Missouri State stayed perfect in the Missouri Valley Conference after securing a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-16) sweep over the Indiana State volleyball team Saturday night inside the ISU Arena.
 
Senior Sarah Peterson paced the Sycamores (7-17, 5-7 MVC) with nine kills while Laura Gross added eight. Lynsey Wright recorded a match-high 14 kills for the Bears (20-5, 12-0 MVC) while her teammate Aubrey Cheffey added 14 kills on 26 attempts.
 
It was a back-and-forth affair early on in set one before the Bears used a 7-1 run midway through to take control. Missouri State would go on for the 25-14 win after hitting .333 in the frame and holding ISU to .109 attacking.
 
The Sycamores put together their best offensive set of the night in the second set, battling the Bears up to 10-9, but again Missouri State's offensive attack was too much to counter. MSU went on an 8-3 run to take an 18-12 lead and the rest was academic as the visitors displayed their best offensive attack of the night with a .536 attacking percentage to roll to a 25-17 set win.
 
Missouri State was able to keep the momentum going in the third set with a steady attack while Indiana State was held to a match-low .061 attack with just eight kills on 33 attempts. The Bears jumped out to a 7-1 lead and never looked back.
