Terre Haute, Ind.—The Sycamores dropped their first conference game to Illinois State by a score of 4-0.
ISU fought a long defensive battle but struggled to find the back of the net with 13 shots and nine on goal. Senior Gaelen Stejbach led the Sycamore offense with three shots and two on goal.
The Redbirds first got on the board in the 17th minute when Kelli Zickert found the net off a free kick from the top of the box. Zickert added an assist in the 33rd minute for a Mikayla Unger goal.
Illinois State notched their third goal of the night in the 35th minute off a cross from Emily Dickman. The final goal was tallied in the 64th minute when Lauren Koehl placed the ball into the upper left corner of the net.
Indiana State tallied five corner kicks while senior goalkeeper Brittany San Roman had five saves.
