Terre Haute, Ind.—The Indiana State University Sycamores fell to the Northwestern Wildcats by a score of two to zero in a ninety minute battle.
On this windy night in Evanston, Ill. ISU allowed Northwestern to take 25 shots with 12 on goal. Senior Goalkeeper Brittany San Roman had a notable performance with 10 saves. San Roman snagged nearly every Wildcat attack that came her way.
The match proved to be difficult for the Sycamore offense. Indiana State recorded zero shots on goal and also had no corner kicks.
ISU played a tough defensive battle consisting of many blocked shots until the 73rd minute when Northwestern's Maddie Lucas turned from ten yards out and found the back of the net at the lower far post.
Northwestern tallied their second goal of the night in the 85th minute when Kassidy Gorman took a shot from 18 yards out to put the ball in the back of the Sycamores net.
Indiana State returns to action on Sept. 4 to take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers in Charleston, Ill. at 1:00 p.m. (ET)
