ST. LOUIS – Senior All-American hurdler Adarius Washington has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week, the Valley announced Tuesday.
Adarius Washington, Senior, Hurdles, Indianapolis, Ind. (Warren Central HS)
After missing out on a trip to the indoor national meet, senior All-American hurdler Adarius Washington put himself in very good position for a chance at the outdoor championships following a strong weekend at the Raleigh Relays at NC State. On Friday, Washington had the top prelim time at 13.68 – not far off his personal best 13.58 from last season. In finals, Washington improved slightly to 13.67 seconds with a +2.1 wind reading, which currently ranks as the No. 2 time in the NCAA and No. 1 overall in the NCAA East Region this outdoor season – almost assuring him a place at the East Regional meet in May. Washington was also the leadoff leg of ISU's 4x100-meter relay that ran 41.11 – nearly half a second faster than Indiana State's top 4x100 time last season.
