Terre Haute, Ind.—Indiana State fell to the Evansville Purple Aces by a score of 2-1.
The Sycamores fought a long hard battle but unfortunately came up short on the pitch in Evansville, Ind. tonight.
UE got on the board first in the 4th minute of play when Mikayla Harvey managed to get her foot on the ball after it had fallen into ISU's six yard box off of a corner kick.
Indiana State retaliated later in the half with Pam Silies scoring the equalizer in the 34th minute. Katie Wells dribbled the ball down the sideline beating an Evansville defender before sending a cross to the back post where Silies ran through the ball past a UE defender and then kept her composure to put it away.
The game was tied up at halftime.
Evansville scored quickly in the second half of play. The Purple Aces added their final goal of the night in the 48th minute of play when Bronwyn Boswell took a shot from the corner of the 18 yard box that floated into the back side of ISU's net.
The Sycamores made some great offensive efforts even putting a shot off of the crossbar late in the game but were unable to equalize the score.
