ST. LOUIS – Senior guard Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday. Abdul-Qaadir earns her third Player of the Week honor and fourth league honor overall.

The senior guard from Springfield, Mass dazzled in the final weekend of regular season action by posting back-to-back 20 point efforts in wins over Drake and UNI. Her performance helped the Sycamores earn a share of the first MVC regular season title in eight years.

Against the Bulldogs, Abdul-Qaadir dropped 23 points on 8-for-14 shooting and dished out a game-high six assists as ISU squeezed out a 73-71 win. She also pulled down five rebounds, picked up a steal and went a perfect 5-for-5 from the line.

In Saturday's regular season finale win over UNI, Abdul-Qaadir paced the Sycamores with 28 points on 11-for-19 shooting and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Her 28 points help guide the Sycamores to a share of the MVC regular season championship for the first time since the 2005-06 season.

Overall, Abdul-Qaadir went 19-for-33 from the field (.576) for 51 points, 3-for-5 from 3-point range and 10-for-10 from the free throw line. She collected a total 10 assists and grabbed eight rebounds as ISU holds a six-game win streak headed into MVC Tournament play.

The Springfield, Mass. native earns the award for the third time this season and fourth overall. She earned Player of the Week honors on Nov. 11, Jan. 6, and Feb. 24 while earning Newcomer of the Week once on Jan. 20. On the season, she leads ISU in points (13.6 per game), assists (127) and steals (56).

Abdul-Qaadir and the top seed Sycamores begin play in the MVC Tournament on Friday, March 14 at 1 p.m. ET versus the winner of the No. 8 Loyola and No. 9 Bradley game. The game will be shown live on Valley-Live.tv.

Drake's Lizzy Wendell was named the MVC Newcomer of the Week.
