ST. LOUIS – Indiana State women's basketball senior guard Anna Munn has been named this week's Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.
Munn earns the award after posting a season-high 24 points in the Sycamores loss to then No. 13/17 LSU on Tuesday. She narrowly missed tying her career high of 27 points she's scored twice before, as she scored 18 of her 24 points in the second half. Munn went 6-for-13 from the field including three from three point range. In addition, the stellar free throw shooter went 9-for-9 from the charity stripe and improved her season percentage to .939 (31-for-33).
The Indianapolis, Ind. native also added a steal, a rebound and three assists in the loss to the nationally-ranked Tigers. On the season, the Indianapolis, Ind. native leads ISU with 14.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
This is the second weekly award for ISU this season as postgraduate senior guard Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir was named the Newcomer of the Week on Nov. 18.
Munn also recently hit the 1,000 point mark in her career on the road against Marshall and will be recognized before tonight's game versus IUPUI. Tipoff is set for 7:05 p.m. in the Hulman Center.
