Box Score

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Indiana State women's basketball team couldn't keep up with the No. 13/17 LSU Tigers as it fell 83-66 on Tuesday afternoon at the Pete Maravich Center. The Sycamores fall to 3-3 overall on the 2013-14 season behind a season and game-high 24 points from senior guard Anna Munn.

ISU's most notable struggle was on the glass, as they were outrebounded, 47-28, and didn't grab an offensive rebound until midway through the second half. On the afternoon, the Sycamores also turned the ball over 23 times and shot just 37 percent from the field.

The Sycamores fell behind 45-25 at the break and came within nine in the second half, but a strong Tiger offense scored 54 of its 83 points in the paint to down ISU for the first-ever matchup between the two schools.

Holding LSU to just two points in the first five and a half minutes of the second period, Indiana State came within 11 with 14:43 to play on a Munn three pointer. But five quick points by the Tigers (7-1) kept the Sycamores at bay.

Senior guard Anna Munn scored 18 of her 24 points in the second half while also dishing out three assists and grabbing a steal in the game before fouling out with 2:02 to play in the second half. She went 6-for-13 from the floor including 3-for-7 from behind the arc and 9-for-9 at the free throw line.

Sophomore guard Marina Laramie also posted double-figures as she scored 12 points and picked up four rebounds. Junior guard Natasha Zurek led the team with seven rebounds.

Junior forward Racheal Mahan scored eight points along with four rebounds while Zurek scored four as all starters scored points in the contest.

Reigning SEC Freshman of the Week Raignye Moncrief scored a season-high 22 points for LSU and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds to lead the Tigers. Three others scored in double figures while freshman guard Jeanne Kennedy grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Sycamores hung with the Tigers despite a four minute drought in the beginning of the contest. Munn ended the scoreless streak with 14:43 to play as she nailed a three forcing an LSU timeout.

However, a 10-2 run with 6:52 set ISU back 30-13 as they fell behind by 20 at the break. LSU held its largest lead of the game (27) in the second half with 6:23 to play.

Indiana State returns home for the first time in nearly a month when they host IUPUI on Monday, December 9 at 7:05 p.m. ET. They last played at the Hulman Center in a 57-54 loss to Indiana.
