TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Indiana State Sycamores will host New Mexico on December 1 inside Hulman Center as part of the fourth Mountain West/Missouri Valley Conference Challenge Series.
All told, there will be nine games as part of the 2012 Challenge to be held from November 17 until December 19.
The event kicks off on Nov. 17 when San Diego State travels to Missouri State. Boise State will play at Creighton while Fresno State will be at Southern Illinois on November 28. There will be four games on December 1, as Wichita State will be at Air Force and Evansville at Colorado State, Drake at Nevada and New Mexico at Indiana State round out that day's contests.
On December 4, Wyoming is at Illinois State and the event concludes on December 19 when Northern Iowa plays at UNLV.
The Sycamores are 1-2 all-time in the Mountain West/MVC Challenge Series, downing Colorado State in 2009 before falling at Wyoming and Boise State over the past two seasons.
New Mexico is led by Steve Alford, who is entering his sixth season as the Lobos head coach. Prior to his time at New Mexico, he was head coach at Iowa where current Sycamore head coach Greg Lansing worked as his assistant for seven seasons. Previously, he was the head coach at Missouri State for four seasons. Alford played collegiately at Indiana University from 1983-87.
